MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS (October 15, 2012) – The National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) is pleased to announce that Coach K, Mike Krzyzewski, will serve as a keynote speaker on Day 2 of its 2013 Management Conference & Team Dealer Summit in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Coach K is the head men’s basketball coach at Duke University, and served as the head coach of the 2008 and 2012, Olympic gold medal-winning United States men’s teams. His session, to be held on Tuesday morning May 7 is titled “Victory Through Teamwork and Leadership”, and will focus on how sporting goods executives can achieve more with enhanced teamwork and leadership within their companies.

In addition to his coaching duties, Krzyzewski holds the annual Coach K Conference on Leadership in conjunction with Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, and speaks widely on the topic of leadership and teamwork.

According to NSGA’s Board Chairman, Ken Meehan (President, Dunham’s Sports), “We’re excited to welcome Coach K to the NSGA Management Conference & Team Dealer Summit next year. He is a well regarded leadership expert and has been consistently recommended by attendees in our post-event surveys in years past. He will be a tremendous addition to the event.”

New in 2013, afternoon education will include sessions in three tracks – Global, Strategic and Tactical – offering leaders from multiple levels of companies the opportunity to attend and hear topics more focused on their specific roles.

“These three afternoon tracks will allow for specialized education for a diverse group of industry leaders,” NSGA’s President & CEO Matt Carlson said. “We’re hoping this added specialization will encourage our attendees to think about bringing additional leaders with them to experience the event and receive education geared toward their jobs.”

As with any event, sponsorship support is key. In fact, a number of companies have already committed to sponsor the 2013 event, including Edifice, GE Capital, W.L. Gore, Holloway Sportswear, Mueller Sports Medicine, Mizuno, SofSole, SPS Commerce, Stahls’ and Wilson Sporting Goods. More information on sponsoring the event can be found at www.nsga.org/sponsorship.

More information on the Management Conference & Team Dealer Summit will be announced regularly on the event's website - www.nsga.org/conference.
