MOUNT PROSPECT, IL (November 5, 2012) – The National Sporting Goods Association announces today that Dustin Dobrin has officially begun to serve as the association’s new Director of Research & Information. Dobrin, who joined the association’s staff on September 4, takes the place of Dan Kasen, a 31-year employee of the association who retired on November 2.

Dobrin brings vast research experience with him to his role, including from his most recent position as the Consumer and Market Insights Manager for the U.S. Mints Division of the Wrigley Co. Previously, he served as a Shopper Insights Manager/Category Manager for the same company.

According to NSGA’s President & CEO, Matt Carlson, “Dustin was a great fit for our association to take our research to the next level. Taking over for someone with as much knowledge as Dan Kasen will not be easy, but I’m confident that Dustin’s previous experience and desire to continue to evolve NSGA’s research and information functions will provide many positive outcomes for NSGA moving forward.”

Prior to his time at Wrigley, Dobrin served as a Client Research Manager for the Nielsen Corporation, focusing on the company’s relationship with Kraft Foods. He has also held an insight role with Quaker State Corporation during his career.

About his new position, Dobrin said, “I take strong pride in joining the outstanding team members working at NSGA. I would like to continue the strong work currently being done at NSGA while also incorporating my own experience to further grow the capabilities of the Research and Information Department. Combined with two areas that I have passion for, the sports industry and the market research field, it was an easy decision to join NSGA.”

All questions about NSGA’s research and information can now be directed to Dobrin by email at ddobrin@nsga.org, or by calling (847) 296-6742, ext. 117.
