Community Collaboration – REI for their corporate grants and community partnerships, work of the REI Foundation and their advocacy efforts in local and global communities.

Industry Catalyst – VICIS, Inc. for their development of an innovative football helmet technology that is showing significant reduction in impact forces in the NFL, college and youth football. VICIS engineers and neurosurgeons have developed a multilayered helmet that mitigates linear and rotational impact forces.

Community Collaboration – Olympia Sports for The Olympia Sports Foundation's Clothing Bank where every donated piece of sporting goods clothing is brand new. Since its inception in 2000, the Clothing Bank has helped 30,000 individuals with nearly 138,000 pieces of clothing in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic communities served by Olympia Sports stores.

“The Olympia Sports Foundation is honored to receive the NSGA Community Collaboration All-Star Award. This has been an exciting and gratifying year for our foundation. We recently reached our goal to provide new footwear and clothing assistance to over 30,000 disadvantaged individuals throughout the states where Olympia Sports stores does business. This benchmark was reached through the dedication of our employee volunteers and their families, our store managers and their staffs and also the monetary and merchandise contributions from our vendors."

Garnet Alexander, Bauer Hockey Director, Research and Development, accepts the Industry Catalyst Award at NSGA's 2015 Management Conference & 17th Annual Team Dealer Summit, May 3-6, 2015 in Austin, Texas at the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa.

Industry Catalyst – Bauer Hockey for its OD1N program, which created revolutionary gear with materials never used before in hockey. 

The performance benefits of these skates, protective gear and goal pads are measured in pounds and feet instead of the traditional ounces and inches. Some of the world’s best hockey players, including Jonathan Toews and Henrik Lundqvist, provided input into the development process and raved about the benefits they feel when they use OD1N gear.

Community Collaboration – Fleet Feet and New Balance for their collaboration on No Boundaries, a 5K training program designed to inspire new runners and walkers to get active and become more fit and healthy.

Industry Catalyst – OrderMyGear for its impact on modernizing the industry by creating customizable software that meets the needs of sales representatives, teams, clubs and schools.

Community Collaboration - Charles River Apparel for its support of Wellness Warriors, a Boston-based dragon boat racing team for cancer survivors and caregivers.

Industry Catalyst - Hibbett Sports for its Operation Sports Renovation program, which provides aid to schools in need because of a natural disaster or difficult economic conditions.

Retailer/Team Dealer - Universal Athletic for its dedciation to the local community, strong relationships with its vendor partners and for its commitment to the betterment of Universal Athletic team members.

Vendor Partner - Alleson Athletic for its commitment to relationships with retailer and team dealer partners. For more than 40 years, Alleson's leadership has exemplified how communication is key to a relationship between a team dealer and a manufacturer.


Community Collaboration - BSN Sports for its efforts and leadership in creating its Victory Grant program, which is donating $1 million of free equipment and uniforms to school athletic programs and recreation leagues in need.

Retailer/Team Dealer Midsize/Large – Fleet Feet Sports for its commitment to the sporting goods industry by providing a seamless exit strategy for current store owners and allowing current employees, without the financial recourses, the opportunity for ownership through the Specialty Retail Development Corporation.

Retailer/Team Dealer Small/Midsize – Buddy’s All-Stars for its “There is Always a Way” attitude that defines their commitment to their customers and the community, and for their continual willingness to partner with vendors and the industry

Vendor Partner – Russell Athletic for its commitment to, and active participation in, the sporting goods industry and for their encouragement of sports participation and giving back to the community with programs like the Fight Like Dylan Award.

Industry Catalyst – Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. for its efforts in co-founding the National Sports Concussion Cooperative, which is committed to helping protect athletes from concussions while charting a well-defined course to help reduce concussions in sports.
